We, the design Team Neher are the largest private plant nursery operator in Guyana for the last 18 years. Presently we have acquired from Mr. Jake Kabutey Director of Densu Ventures Inc. Guyana, coconut fiber dust (CFD) as well as coconut fibre for the use of our plant propagation. The coconut fiber was utilized in seed trays to produce annual from seeds. The CED compared to peat moss showed a much high germination and growth rate as against peat moss. A bigger success rate was achieved with potted annuals which were planted in the CFD dust mixed with some clay. However, we believe that trough the water holding capacity of the CFD the successful growth rate of the plants was achieved. The coconut fiber (CF) we utilize for the air layering of Ficuses. The slightly wet coconut fibre we utilize provided fast and enhanced growth of new roots. The time frame between air layering and reaping was on an average reduced by 3 days. Hans Neher Proprietor |
